 During the Miocene period Bakersfield, California was a large ocean bay. In that bay live many
creatures such as Megalodon and Mako sharks, whales, and an ancestor of the modern day sea lion. This sea lion was called Allodesmus and many of it's bones and teeth can be found in the rich fossil area known as the Sharktooth Hill bone bed. |
